My Clear Shot tip looks blocked if I don't use it often — is this normal?
Yes, this is completely normal. The formula naturally self-seals at the tip between uses to protect its freshness and potency. Before applying, always check the tip first. If you notice a small plug or seal, gently peel it off or press the tip against a tissue to clear it. Skipping this step and squeezing directly may cause the product to dispense unexpectedly. A little goes a long way, so use a slow, gentle squeeze for controlled application.
Can I use Clear Shot together with other acne treatments?
"Clear Shot is designed to go directly on a blemish, so it works alongside your existing routine rather than replacing it. Most people find it easy to incorporate.
A few things worth knowing: because Clear Shot contains salicylic acid, which has an exfoliating effect, layering it with other products that can cause dryness, such as retinoids, may increase the chance of irritation, sensitivity or flaking at the application site. This is not unique to Clear Shot. It is a known consideration with salicylic acid in general.
If your skin starts to feel drier or more sensitive than usual, scale back to once a day or on alternating days.
If you are on a prescription skincare regimen, check with your dermatologist, as some prescription products come with specific layering guidance."

Can Clear Shot cover any size or shape of blemish?
Yes. Because Clear Shot is a liquid formula, it can be applied precisely over blemishes of any size, shape, or location, including irregular or clustered breakouts where patches simply do not fit.
How is Clear Shot different from hydrocolloid patches?
Hydrocolloid patches sit on top of the skin and absorb fluid, working best when a blemish has come to a head. They are often visible and limited to flat, patch-sized blemishes. Clear Shot takes a different approach. It forms a thin, invisible film that adheres directly to the skin for discreet, all-day wear on any size or shape of blemish on any skintone. With 2% salicylic acid, it also does more than most hydrocolloid patches by helping keep pores clear and reducing the appearance of redness and swelling over time.
Is Clear Shot visible on the skin after drying?
Clear Shot dries transparent on the skin and is virtually undetectable to others. Up close there is a slight sheen to the film, but it blends seamlessly into your complexion. It is suitable for all-day wear, whether on its own or under makeup, without drawing attention to the area.
Does Clear Shot help prevent touching or picking at blemishes?
Clear Shot forms a thin, invisible protective layer over the blemish. While it does not physically stop you from touching the area, the barrier means that if you do touch it, direct contact with the blemish is minimized, reducing the chance of transferring dirt or bacteria. It also serves as a gentle visual and physical reminder that the area is being cared for, so you can go about your day with confidence.
How long does Clear Shot take to show visible improvement?
You may start to notice a difference within a day or a few days of consistent use, depending on the type and stage of the blemish. With continued application, Clear Shot supports clearer-looking skin by protecting the area and allowing salicylic acid to work more effectively, gradually helping reduce the appearance of redness and swelling.
When and how should I remove the Clear Shot film?
Remove Clear Shot when cleansing your face. Simply splash water over the area and gently peel or rub it off once the film becomes visible again. There is no need to scrub, pull at the skin, or use a makeup remover or cleanser to take it off
How long should I keep Clear Shot on the skin?
Clear Shot can be kept on the skin throughout the day or overnight. It’s designed to stay in place and protect the blemish for extended wear. You can typically apply it twice a day after cleansing your face in the morning and evening. It can also be reapplied as needed to maintain coverage and protection, depending on your routine and wear time.
Can I apply makeup over Clear Shot?
Yes, you can apply makeup over Clear Shot once the film has fully dried. Makeup sits on top of the film rather than directly on the blemish, which means the film continues to block irritants and protect the area even while you are wearing makeup. When you remove your makeup at the end of the day, you may notice the film is still intact underneath, no color or pigment from your makeup penetrates through the film, and your bare skin stays clean and protected beneath it. For best results, avoid rubbing or blending too aggressively over the area to keep the film in place.
How long does Clear Shot take to dry after application?
Drying time depends on how much product is applied and the size of the area covered. A thicker application or a larger area may take 10 minutes or more. Allow it to dry fully as you continue getting ready. If you are in a rush, spreading a thinner layer will speed up the process. Note that a thinner layer may not peel off as one cohesive piece when removed. If that happens, simply rub the area gently to remove it.
What should I apply before and after Clear Shot?
"Yes, Clear Shot works well within your existing skincare routine. Here is how to layer it:
Apply before Clear Shot: Water-based serums and essences
Apply after Clear Shot: Makeup, concealer, and anhydrous (water-free) sunscreens
Avoid over the blemish area: Moisturizers, sunscreens, serums or essences that contain both oil and water. Apply those to the rest of your face and leave the blemish area for Clear Shot only. If you do need to apply them over the blemish, apply Clear Shot after. Note that wear time may be compromised.
Clear Shot bonds directly to clean skin. Reducing oil or lipid content between the film and your skin will help it adhere better and deliver salicylic acid more effectively."
How do I apply Clear Shot correctly?
Apply Clear Shot on clean, dry skin directly over the blemish, ensuring there is no excess oil or moisture. You can place the tip of the applicator directly on the spot where it is needed. Do not press the plunger all the way down as that may dispense more than needed. Only a drop the size of your blemish is all it takes. If you prefer to apply with your finger, press the applicator gently against your fingertip first, then spread a thin, even layer over the blemish. Allow it to dry fully before touching the area or layering products on top. Reapply as needed throughout the day.
Is Clear Shot suitable for all skin types?
Yes, Clear Shot is designed to be suitable for all skin types. It is clinically tested by dermatologists and formulated to be non-irritating and non-sensitizing, making it suitable for regular use on the skin.
What is DermVeil™ Technology and how does it help protect blemishes?
DermVeil Technology is Clear Shot's advanced film-forming system that creates a thin, invisible, breathable layer over the blemish. It helps shield the area from dirt, germs, and external irritants while supporting the skin undisturbed. It also enhances adhesion for consistent, all-day protection without the need for visible patches. Learn more about DermVeil(tm) Technology here.
How does Clear Shot work on breakouts?
Clear Shot is formulated with 2% salicylic acid, a well-established ingredient known to help lift dead skin cells, unclog pores, and reduce the appearance of redness and swelling over time. DermVeil(tm) Technology then forms an advanced protective film over the blemish, locking the salicylic acid in place so delivery is targeted exactly where it is needed. The film stays invisible on the skin, supporting a more controlled recovery without the bulk of a visible patch.
What is Clear Shot and how is it different from regular pimple creams or patches?
Clear Shot is an invisible liquid blemish formula that goes on like a cream and forms a thin, breathable film over the blemish. It creates a protective layer that helps shield the area from external irritants while supporting the skin's natural recovery process.
Unlike traditional pimple creams that can be easily rubbed off without any indication of whether they are still there or working, Clear Shot dries down invisible on the skin so you always know it is in place. When it is ready to come off, it becomes visible again, making removal effortless.
Unlike patches, Clear Shot works on any size or shape of blemish and blends seamlessly on all skin tones, so there is nothing to hide and nothing that stands out.
